Proving how far out of reach with pop culture it is, Rollingstone recently announced their top 50 albums of 2008 ranking Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter III" at number 3 behind Bob Dylan and TV On The Radio of all people. The next hip hop act on the list is The Knuxx at number 28 with their "Remind Me In Three Days" album while Nas is the third and final rapper to make the top 50 landing at 43rd with his "Untitled" album.

Other notable artists include Ne-Yo in 33rd with his "Year Of The Gentleman" album and Raphael Saadiq's "The Way I See It" at number 48.

Naming people like the Jonas Brothers and Bon Iver to the top 50 while leaving Young Jeezy, Kanye West or even Ludacris shows how out of the loop Rollingstone has become. Maybe it's me, but who the hell is Fleet Foxes or Conor Oberst? I hate that the once legendary magazine, an industry standard, now tries so hard to be different that they end up looking retarded.
