20/11/08 Taco Bell Fights Back Against 50

After 50 Cent sued Taco Bell for $4 million dollars after he says they used his name in a national campaign without his permission, the Bell is fighting back with a lawsuit of their own, trying to use his own persona against the G-Unit general. "[He's a] self-described former drug dealer and huster," Taco Bell said in their suit, continuing "Jackson has used his colorful past to cultivate a public image of belligerence and arrogance and has a well-publicized track record of making threats, starting feuds and filing lawsuits. At the same time, Jackson holds himself out as a giver to charity and one who wants to give back to his community. This lawsuit is another of Jackson's attempts to burnish his gangsta rapper persona by distorting beyond all recognition a bona fide, good faith offer that Taco Bell made to Jackson."

50's attorney, Peter Raymond, responded by saying "It makes me wonder why they would decide to use his name in their ad campaign if they think he's such a bad character." As we previously reported, 50 filed the lawsuit claiming that Taco Bell presented a fake letter asking the rapper to change his name for their "79 Cent," "89 Cent" or "99 Cent" campaign, presenting it to the media before 50 Cent.

50 Cent Wont Back Down [Documents Included]:
On the heels of Taco Bell counter suing 50 Cent, the G-Unit general isn't backing down. 50 Cent's lawyer, Peter Raymond, tells TMZ "Taco Bell needs to be stopped" continuing by saying "Mr. Cent intends to vigorously pursue this case."
